Hays Elementary Students Serving Others

For Students Serving Others (SSO) Week students at Hays Elementary brought items to support Mac and Cheese and Pancakes, a local non-profit started my Hays first grader, Kaden Newton.  The organization works to stock area food panties with kid-friendly food items.  Each grade level brought a certain type of food.  The school collected hundreds of food items!  Way to go, Hays Team!

Sweet Relief for Storm Victims

In the last week of March, strong storms hammered the Dalton Ranch neighborhood in north Rockwall.  Many homes were damaged, several are currently uninhabitable.  Hays PTA held an event on March 30 called Sweet Relief.  Community members came together to share popsicles and donate gift cards for families affected by the storms.  The event was a huge success thanks to Kroger and Popcorn Papa for donations of treats for the event.  Together we raised over $7500 in giftcards! On Saturday morning, Hays PTA board representatives and students delivered giftcards to 9 families whose homes were significantly damaged by the storms.  We are #HaysStrong!
